Barnstorming Adventures San Diego Top Dog Air Combat Flights Information...

Fly Real Air Combat in Real Aircraft! Just like you've seen on TV and in the movies. Except you'll be doin' the yankin' and bankin'! This is hands-on, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping dogfighting. No pilot's license required--just guts! Many of our pilots are active duty Marine Corps and Navy pilots. Now hear this: Launch aircraft! Bogey, 12 o'clock high...rat-a-tat-tat...Splash one! 

After takeoff, as we go feet wet at the coastline, we turn aircraft over to you so you can get the feel of the controls enroute to "enemy territory." Once in our operating area, we'll demonstrate an engagement and the maneuvers we discussed during the briefing, and then turn it back over to you for 3 full-on, claws-out dogfights. Afterwards we return to base, and generally fly the overhead break or perform a section landing. 

Whole thing takes about 1.5-2 hours. Pre-flight briefing is 30-40 minutes, man-up, strap in and cockpit checkout is about 15 minutes. Flight is 35-45 minutes. Debrief takes 10-15 minutes.

From Los Angeles Come South 

Drive south on Interstate 5 through Oceanside and Carlsbad to the Palomar Airport Road exit which is the next exit past Cannon Road. Turn left and head east on Palomar Airport Road approximately 2.8 miles until you see the airport on your left. Turn left at the Yarrow Drive light (it's Yarrow Drive on the right and the airport entrance on the left). Follow the "At the Airport" directions below. 

From San Diego Come North 

Drive north on Interstate 5 past Solano Beach, Encinitas, Leucadia, and La Costa to the Palomar Airport Road exit which is the next exit past Poinsettia Lane. Turn right and head east on Palomar Airport Road approximately 2.8 miles until you see the airport on your left. Turn left at the Yarrow Drive light (it's Yarrow Drive on the right and the airport entrance on the left). Follow the "At the Airport" directions below.

Coming From Escondido or Interstate 15 

Take Interstate 15 to 78 in Escondido. Go west on 78 to San Marcos Blvd. Take San Marcos Blvd west. San Marcos Blvd turns into Palomar Airport Road when it crosses El Camino Real within sight of the airport. Turn right at the Yarrow Drive light (it's Yarrow Drive on the left and the airport entrance on the right). Follow the "At the Airport" directions below. 

At The Airport 

Once you've turned into the airport make an immediate left where the road forks and follow it west. Go all the way to the end through several stop signs, a right turn, pass the Magellan security gate on your left and Jet Source on your right, and then bear to the left into our parking lot. Park in any of the open spots. If there are none, go back out the to the entrance road (past the Magellan gate) and parallel park on the side of the road. Check in at the Carlsbad Aircraft Pilot Supply shop. If the shop happens to be closed, please wait in front of the shop and our pilot will track you down. Please check in 30 minutes before your flight. Be sure to bring a photo ID.
